Cox bemoans poor form
Cox is dismissed by Yorkshire hero McGrath
Cox is dismissed by Yorkshire hero McGrath
Jamie Cox, who in 2001 proudly lifted the C&G Trophy, this time was forced to taste defeat after watching Yorkshire trump his team's efforts at Lord's.

And he said that poor form coming into the competition ultimately cost Somerset dear.

The Tasmanian said: "We just didn't quite have the form coming into the final.

"We had a couple of great escapes to get here but on the day couldn't quite pull it off."

Somerset had won their semi-final against Kent in dramatic style when it seemed the south-east county had timed their run chase to perfection.

Yorkshire were not about to throw away a winning position when it mattered most, however, and Cox had to watch fellow Aussie Matt Elliott steal the show.

He was clearly impressed with Elliott's efforts.

"We were beaten by one of the greatest innings I've ever seen," said Cox.
