Australian batsman Elliott took Yorkshire to their first win in a Lord's final for 15 years with a superbly judged century.

Matthew Hoggard had earlier taken five for 65 to peg Somerset back after Peter Bowler (67) had helped give their innings a healthy start.

Michael Vaughan chipped in with a valuable 31 for Yorkshire while Anthony McGrath also remained unbeaten on 46.

Excellent match, really enjoyed it. Liked the Somerset fans' chant of "We drink cider, and you drink tea"...

Great win boys. Special mention must be made of Chris Silverwood who bowled eight overs in agony for the cause and 'Terry' McGrath who has turned 'occasional' seam-bowling into a fine art. Two seasons, two trophies. Thank you, Wayne Clark!!!

Well done to the 30 Somerset fans in Lower Grand Stand for "raising it" a full eight or so hours right to the death during an extremely entertaining and cider fuelled day. No doubt spurred on by the celebrity appearance of Victor Meldrew, you did us proud. Only three things missing from the day - a Somerset win, Crazy Golf, and more West Indies Posse T-Shirts!

Just wanted to say well done to the Yorkies, but also a big hand to the Somerset boys who raised it. Decisions went against us, but Elliott never gave a chance on the day - a classy knock.

Jonners was fantastic and should tour Australia, and who's talking about Bowler retiring now?? Not me. A fantastic day out was had by all...even though we were just second best on the day. Anyone remember where I parked my tractor?

A great game between two evenly-matched teams going through a tough season. It was good to see them both 'up for the cup'! Yorkshire deserved their win; never letting Somerset get away from them.

It was a good all-round performance with some exceptional contributions; Vaughan's catch, Hoggard's second spell, McGrath's all-round performance, Blakey's captaincy and of course Elliot's century.

It is also good to see that Agnew is lost for words; never a Yorkshire fan, he seems more interested to talk about 'off field' problems and what team England will pick rather than a match summary!

Well done Yorkshire and Somerset for a very entertaining and competitive game.

A disappointing time for all us Somerset fans - and just why is it that Andy Caddick can't get a wicket in a Lord's final? In fact AC looked pretty innocuous for the most part. I wouldn't write him off for England just yet, but I suspect that he's not fully recovered from his injury and I'd be inclined not to pick him for the last Test.

In a match full of great cricket (especially from that Australian import) Vaughan's catch was surely the champagne moment - though it was a moment when Somerset hearts sank.

As a Yorkshire man born and bred, I am delighted that the "Tykes" have managed to get something out of this season. I must say I cannot understand how a team can go from being the Champions one year to bottom of the league the next. However, the England call-ups may have upset the balance of the team, and the loss of Gough has not helped either.

Don't get carried away Yorkshire fans, Somerset are having a poor season and are low on confidence. If you hadn't beaten them it would have said a lot about the side. Don't forget you're likely to get relegated in the Championship, which after all, is much more important than the C&G Trophy.

Well done the Tykes. A super all-round performance full of Yorkshire grit. L'ets hope that this win will spur them on in the next two Championship games and let them avoid the drop. A Championship without a Yorkshire team will not be worth much.

Yorkshire's bowlers performed superbly and the total Somerset posted always seemed within reach. Matt Elliott has proved to be a more than able deputy for the prolific Lehmann and his innings led Yorkshire to the trophy at a canter. Well done Yorkshire!
