Watson goes out in second round

Watson was the first British girl to win the US Junior Open

Guernsey's Heather Watson is out of the Aegon Pro Series in Barnstaple after defeat in round two by French player Kristina Mladevnovic.

Watson, 17, took the first set 6-2, but 16-year-old Mladevnovic then won the next two sets 6-4 6-2.

Watson is ranked over 400 places below Mladevnovic in women's singles.

The number one seed Ksenia Pervak, from Russia, is also into to the quarter-finals, following a 6-4 6-2 win over Brtiain's Naomi Cavaday.
