Yems to join staff at Plainmoor

Torquay United

Torquay United have strengthened their backroom staff with the appointment of former Exeter City assistant manager John Yems.

Yems left the Grecians in July, saying he did not want to move his family from Sussex in order to do the job justice.

Torquay's chief executive Colin Lee said Yems will be involved with scouting and analysis at Plainmoor.

He said: "With John being located around London it will help us unearth players we may not have been aware of."

Lee told the club's official website: "John will be playing a vital role at the club.

"It will involve the specific role of identifying players for senior level and providing regular match analysis."
