 Watson struggled on the clay surface |
Guernsey's Heather Watson lost to Belarussian Polina Pekhova in the second round of the European Junior Championships in Austria on Monday. The marathon match went the full three sets with Pekhova coming out on top in the end 7-5 5-7 6-4. The 17-year-old, representing Great Britain, was seeded fifth in the 18-and-under tournament and received a bye through the first round. After her recent good results on grass Watson struggled on the clay surface.
