Watson claimed her first senior title by winning at Frinton

Heather Watson claimed her first senior title by winning the final of the AEGON Pro Series tournament in Frinton.

The 17-year-old, from Guernsey, beat fellow Brit Anna Fitzpatrick 4-6 6-4 6-2 in a three-set thriller.

Watson bounced back from losing the first set by racing into a 4-1 lead in the second.

But she then had to hold her nerve to level the match after being pegged back to 4-4, before running away with the deciding third set to claim the title.

Watson, who came through qualifying to make the main draw, beat second seed Anna Smith 6-2 6-1 in the semi-finals, after losing to her in the last four of the Felixstowe Pro Series tournament last week.
