Worcester Warriors sign Montpellier prop Bruce Douglas
Douglas made his debut for Scotland in 2002
Worcester Warriors have signed Scotland international prop Bruce Douglas from French side Montpellier.
The 30-year-old, who has also had spells with Harlequins, Border Reivers and Llanelli, will begin a two-year deal at Sixways in the summer.
"He brings experience and a huge work rate," Worcester director of rugby Mike Ruddock told BBC Hereford & Worcester.
"For a prop he is relatively young and we believe he will continue to develop into the prime years in his career."
Douglas, who has won 43 international caps, added: "I'm really looking forward to the move to Worcester and this is a great opportunity for me to come back and play in England.
"I have played at Sixways on a number of occasions, most recently for Montpellier this season, and so I know how good the set-up is and how the club has grown.
"I feel I am joining at the right time and I'm excited about the future."
Worcester will now release props Olivier Sourgens and Shaun Ruwers at the end of the current campaign.
Ruwers joined the club from Waterloo three years ago, but has missed most of the current campaign through injury.
Sourgens joined Worcester last summer from Bordeaux-Begles, having played once for France in 2007.
Samoan centre Dale Rasmussen also looks likely to leave Sixways at the end of the season after six years at the club.
Meanwhile Matthew Jones, who is set to leave the club at the end of the season, could feature against Harlequins on Saturday but Willie Walker will miss out after breaking a bone in his hand. The fly-half is expected to be out of action for four weeks.
Ruddock also revealed he will be releasing some of the club's younger players, with hooker Jordan Page and fly-half George Crook almost certain to move on.
