Dragons eye Worcester and Wales fly-half Matthew Jones

Dragons coach Paul Turner says he is considering a move for Worcester fly-half Matthew Jones, and for any available Welsh players in England.

"I'm always interested in Welsh players because of the participation rule," Turner told BBC Sport Wales.

"I would be interested in Matthew... [with him and others] it comes down to negotiation - nothing's finalised yet."

Turner ruled out a move for Wales prop Ceri Jones, despite his admiration for the Harlequins front-rower.

"I've tried most years to get Ceri back but that isn't going to happen, I can assure you," he said.

Turner did not dismiss the idea of trying to recruit Warren Fury, but said that he had not spoken to anyone about a potential deal for the Wasps and Wales scrum-half.

The Dragons currently have six overseas players on their books.

Three are out of contract at the end of the season, including captain Tom Willis.

"I'm at the negotiation stage," the New Zealand hooker told BBC Sport Wales.

"I'm hoping to be here playing next year."

The Dragons' Kiwi fly-half James Arlidge is also out of contract at the end of this season, potentially leaving a space in the squad for one-cap Wales fly-half Matthew Jones.

He said in January that he is looking at his options in his home country when his two-year contract at Worcester ends in June.

"I'm really enjoying Worcester and the challenge of the Guinness Premiership," said 25-year-old Jones.

"But I've always had my eye on what's happening in the Welsh regions, and when a good time would be for me to come back home."

The playmaker began his career at the Ospreys, making 47 appearances for the Swansea-based region after his 2004 debut.

He played for hometown-club Bridgend, Moseley and London Welsh before Worcester coach Mike Ruddock snapped him up for the Warriors.

Former national coach Ruddock gave Jones his solitary cap as a replacement in the 3-60 win over Canada on Wales' 2005 summer tour of North America.
