Ruddock's Warriors visit Harlequins on Saturday |
Worcester Warriors director of rugby Mike Ruddock hailed the club's "fantastic" fans after Friday's 13-0 victory over Newcastle Falcons. He told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "We wanted the fans to get behind us at this critical time and they did that. "I asked them to let the referee know if they thought the line-out throws were not straight, and they did that. "They really helped us and they were fantastic. That is home advantage, that is what we are after." He added: "We want that every time we play at Sixways, but I want to thank the fans for that." Warriors' victory took them above Sale, and they are just one point above the Sharks and Leeds in the relegation fight. Ruddock said: "We are not getting carried away, we are still at the bottom end of the table. "But we have ticked the first box on the run-in. We identified last week what we needed to do in those last eight games. "We set a standard in terms of out discipline, our attack and defence. That is just the first step of what we need to do in the run in."
