Ospreys coach Lyn Jones has expressed confidence in the ability of his 34-man Heineken Cup squad to make an impression on the European scene. "We have assembled a squad which can now realistically compete in the European Cup," said Jones.
"The question remains whether we have learned from our collective experiences over recent years and can build on them.
"The return of our World Cup squad members brings a level of competition to the squad which we have not had over recent weeks.
"There have been a lot of tired limbs and players have had to play whilst injured over the last month or so, and this can be avoided from now on." The Ospreys open their European campaign with a tricky trip to Leeds Tykes on Sunday, 7 December (1430 GMT).
Also featuring in Pool 2 are Edinburgh and reigning champions Toulouse.
