The Cardiff regional side have included all their World Cup stars in their 34-man Heineken Cup squad. Not considered because of injuries were Richard Smith, Lee Abdul, Dean Dewdney and Jonny Vaughton, although they could be added in the new year if the Blues make the quarter-finals.
Hookers Leyton Phillips and Ryan Price plus prop Darren Sweet have been included to meet the tournament's requirements of registering 10 front-row forwards.
The Blues' opening fixture is a trip to Sale on 6 December. Biarritz and Leinster also figure in a tough qualifying group.
"The Heineken Cup matches ask real questions of all the competing teams and this season is no exception," said Blues coach Dai Young.
"We knew that Richard and Dean were long-term injuries, and it's bad luck on them, while Jonny will definitely come into consideration if we are in a position to re-register in January."
