Short has come up through the Warrior's academy |
Worcester Warriors youngster Andy Short has signed a new two-year contract at the Sixways club. The England Under-20's international, 19, who can play at centre or wing, made his Championship debut in October and has gone on to play eight games. "I want players at Warriors who are dedicated to the club," said head coach Richard Hill. "Andy has a superb attitude and desire to get better and will have a big future at Sixways." He added: "He is dedicated, professional and is very willing to learn. Andy is a pleasure to coach and hugely motivated to better himself. "We have seen him develop this season and he fully deserves all the opportunities he has been given. "We want to look after our own players who are coming through the system at Sixways. Players like Andy Short and Matt Kvesic, who are both playing England Under-20 rugby at the moment, will form the future of Worcester Warriors." Short, who is set to start for Warriors when they face Birmingham & Solihull on Saturday, scored four tries in England U-20's 74-3 demolition of Italy U-20's last week.
