Kvesic captained England Under-18s last season |
Worcester Warriors head coach Richard Hill says outstanding young players like Matt Kvesic, Ollie Frost and Andy Short are the future of the club. Back row Kvesic celebrated his league debut with two tries in a 36-7 win over Esher on Saturday, a Warriors showing that otherwise disappointed Hill. "On the back of that performance, Matt has got a good future here," Hill told BBC Hereford and Worcester. "He's 18 years old but plays way above his years. I'm delighted with him." Kvesic will leave frozen Sixways this week to join the England Under-20 squad training in Portugal. And Hill says while he is disappointed to lose the player, it is a great opportunity for him. | You would play with those next to you every single week because you know they will give you absolutely everything and full commitment Worcester coach Richard Hill |
"He will be away with England now for a spell, but when he is with us we will try and keep him involved as much as possible, because he is an outstanding young talent." Academy product Kvesic became the youngest ever Warrior in the professional era last season when he faced Scarlets, and Hill says he is useful anywhere in the back row. "Matt can play in all three positions across the back row. He is very much like Pat Sanderson in that regard, but we will look to groom him as a seven. "These lads are the future because of their attitude - they work hard and are so dedicated. "They are all totally committed and when they go out on the pitch they play their hearts out. That is exactly what you want from the key young players coming through the club. "You would play with those next to you every single week because you know they will give you absolutely everything and full commitment. They have a great attitude."
