Bedford Blues boss Mike Rayer chasing more success

Only Rotherham and Worcester have beaten Rayer's men this season

Mike Rayer has urged his Bedford Blues team to add to their remarkable run of form in the Championship.

Saturday's 37-10 win over Rotherham means the Blues have been beaten just once in their last 10 outings, losing to leaders Worcester last month.

Director of rugby Rayer told BBC Three Counties Radio: "We're nine from ten now and we'll just keep rolling on.

"It's important we keep tight as a group, keep rolling our sleeves up and keep grinding these wins out."

The Titans had pipped Rayer's men 19-16 at Clifton Lane in September but the Blues were untouchable at home, with a hat-trick of tries from former Saracens wing Edd Thrower crowning the victory.

"I think we were outstanding at times," added Rayer.

"Some of the stuff was fantastic, we were making so many line breaks but unfortunately we didn't finish every one of them off.

"Thankfully at the end we got a bit of daylight between ourselves and Rotherham.

"I was pleased all round; I thought everyone contributed.

"It's pleasing moving forward, we've got guys hungry off the bench and a couple coming back to fitness."

A victory for Worcester at home to Plymouth means the Warriors remain six points clear of the second-placed Blues.

But Cornish Pirates' slip-up at London Welsh has opened up a five-point gap between Bedford and the Pirates.

"We don't really look at the table to be honest. We can only concentrate on ourselves," said Rayer.

"If you glance too far ahead or at anybody else then you take your eye off the ball."
