Bedford hooker Dan Richmond has called for more tries from his teammates but stressed the club must focus on victory at Birmingham and Solihull on Saturday. Bedford are second in the Championship but have scored just four bonus points, the lowest total of the top six. Richmond told BBC Three Counties Radio: "It's important we get a win on the road, that's our main priority. "We have a lot of very skilful players so if we get the opportunity to score more than four tries we'll do that." Teams are awarded a bonus point if they score four or more tries in one match. | The tempo we play the game at usually rewards us around the hour mark Bedford Blues hooker Dan Richmond |
Birmingham & Solihull are bottom of the Championship with 11 points, but Richmond said: "Birmingham are a good side and they like to move the ball around, as do we, so from in that respect it should be an exciting game." The 31-year-old who has returned from a shoulder injury said fast, clinical rugby would be crucial. "We feel we're a very fit squad of players and the tempo we play the game at usually rewards us around the hour mark," he said. "If we can keep hold of the ball and play our style of rugby at a high tempo, the tries will naturally come."
