Delaney is pushing for promotion from National One with his side

Nottingham director of rugby Glenn Delaney is calling on the city to come to Sunday's tie with Rotherham at Meadow Lane to help save the club.

The Green and Whites need to raise �150,000 by May to survive.

Delaney told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We want to have the biggest crowd of the season on Sunday.

"Nottingham should be proud of its rugby team and the way one we can find that out is by people coming along and supporting us."

He added: "There are a number of things underway to help us save the club but the small thing that the average person could do is to come along and watch the game."

Chairman Geoff Huckstep said: "We desperately need help from the people of Nottingham, and the business community, or this city will lose one of its greatest sporting assets."

Second row Lee Morley is due to make his 100th league appearances for Nottingham against the Titans on Sunday.

Delaney said: "In my opinion Lee is half of the best second row partnership in the league and it is his own hard work that has put him there.

"He signed as a fresh-faced 22-year-old and has matured into one of the dominant forces in this league."

The Green and Whites ended their run of nine unbeaten games with a 29-18 defeat at Exeter on Saturday.
