Nottingham are docked two points

Cash-strapped Nottingham Rugby have had two National One points deducted for fielding an ineligible player.

Last week, the club announced they could close by Christmas if a major sponsor is not found.

Director of rugby Glenn Delaney told BBC Radio Nottingham: "It's an administrative mistake that was made in the process leading up to a game.

"It's very disappointing but we're trying to move past it in light of other events."

Delaney added: "The game regulations are very clear and the possibility of appeal is not practical in light of the previous cases."

The Green and Whites ended their run of nine unbeaten games with a 29-18 defeat at Exeter on Saturday.
