Captain Fran Hunt scored three tries after coming on as a substitute |
Vagabonds Ladies beat third place Darlington 31-26 on Saturday, to earn their first home win of the season. The victory sees the Manx side climb to fifth and above Sheffield in the RFUW Championship North Division Two table. Vagabonds coach Darrin Cook said: "It was a tremendous performance and hopefully we can build on it." The Douglas team will finish their season with home matches against Fleetwood Grasshoppers and runaway leaders, Novocastrians. The Manx side trailed 17-0 before scrum-half Rachel Beckley scored for Cook's side. Despite suffering with an illness, captain Fran Hunt came off the bench to score three tries before being substituted. Darlington still held a two point lead with five minutes remaining when Chantal Johnston made a 40 metre dash before offloading to Abi Corkish for the winning try.
