Nick Trower scored late to give Jersey a win at Old Albanian |
A late converted Nick Trower try gave Jersey a dramatic 20-19 win at Old Albanian in Hertfordshire. The narrow victory keeps the islanders in second place and on course for promotion, eight points off the top but with a game in hand on leaders Ealing. Jersey had been 14-7 behind at the break despite an early first-half try from fly-half Tom Turner. Michael Le Bourgeois scored 10 points with the boot to help the islanders to an eighth league win in a row. Old Albanian drop to fifth in the National Two South table. Jersey head coach Ben Harvey said: "We didn't play particularly well in the first half today, but the second half was a terrific performance. "They're an extremely good side and they put us under a lot of pressure, but once we got into our stride we managed to shut them out very well and didn't give them many opportunities to kick for goal."
