Guernsey Ladies are now in their second season |
Jersey United Banks Ladies started their season with a comprehensive 58-3 win over Guernsey Ladies. On a waterlogged pitch following heavy rain, an early try from Kim Stephens started off the rout for Jersey, who proved too strong for their rivals. Captain Laura Poingdestre was the key player for the home side, scoring a hat-trick of tries. Guernsey's only points came from a first-half penalty, converted by captain Jemma Crouse. Both sides are hoping to play eight fixtures over the course of the season, which will allow them to enter an official league with the Rugby Football Union next year.
