Ramsey gained promotion to the second division last season

Vagabonds poor away form in South Lancashire/ Cheshire Division One continued on Saturday, as they slumped to a 31-6 defeat at Ashton-on-Mersey.

The Manx side led 6-0 at half-time but Ashton's heavier pack took control in the second-half as the home side scored 31 unanswered points.

Vagas have won all three of their home games but lost both away matches.

Meanwhile, Ramsey are up to eighth in Division Two after beating Marple 17-7 at Mooragh Park.

Douglas' stuttering start continued as they lost 15-5 at home to Moore.

Elsewhere, Vagabonds B moved top of the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield after thumping neighbours Douglas B 77-7.
