Ramsey gained promotion to the second division last season

Vagabonds got their South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One campaign off to a flying start with a 21-15 home win against Ormskirk on Saturday.

The visitors led 12-11 at half-time before the Isle of Man side battled back to secure all the points.

Meanwhile, Douglas and newly promoted Ramsey both started with defeats in Divsion Two.

Douglas lost 13-8 away at Ruskin Park and Ramsey went down fighting 39-26 away at Orrell.
