Davies has been coaching at the Pirates since 2009 |
Cornish Pirates forwards coach Ian Davies says the team are eager to make amends for their failure to win at Moseley on Saturday. The Pirates were leading 26-19 as the game approached injury time, when Moseley scored a try to draw level. Davies told BBC Cornwall: "I think there will be a steely determination now after Saturday's performance. "We set a target for the opening five matches and we're on course for that, but we've got to make sure we turn up." He added: "We've got to make sure that we concentrate for however long the match takes." The Pirates will look to amend the disappointment of last weekend's 26-26 draw when they take on Birmingham & Solihull at the Mennaye Field on Sunday. Although the Bees are yet to win in the Championship this season, and sit bottom of the table without any points, Davies is determined his charges do not take their visitors lightly. He said: "Birmingham came down last year and we fell into the trap of trying to play 7s rugby. "So we've got to make sure of what we do, and that we do it correctly."
