Moseley record scorer Ollie Thomas makes swift return

Moseley rugby club

Moseley's record points scorer Ollie Thomas has agreed to return to Billesley Common for a third spell with the Championship club.

Thomas, 27, was part of the side that won the National Trophy at Twickenham in May 2009 before heading to France.

After almost guiding Racing Club Chalonnais to promotion he joins a revamped Moseley back division.

"We're delighted to have him back - we never wanted him to leave in the first place," said backs' coach Don Caskie.

He added: "We could not guarantee him, or indeed anyone else, a permanent starting place in the side. However, providing he is fit he will always be one of the first on the team sheet."

His versatility will always provide attractive options in what is shaping up to be an exciting set of backs

Thomas holds several club records including most career points (1,007), most points in a season (328) and most points in a game (28).

"His versatility and ability to play in a number of positions will always provide a number of attractive options in what is shaping up to be an exciting set of backs," Caskie noted.

Thomas, who has previously played full-time at the Cornish Pirates, has agreed a one-year contract with Moseley.
