Jersey won the Touch Inter Insular Cup at Footes Lane on Saturday.

Three matches were played between Jersey and Guernsey with one match each for men, women and the mixed teams.

Jersey women led from the start in the ladies game, winning 4-3, their men won 9-1 and the mixed team won 6-3 against Guernsey.

It is the first time in three years that Jersey have won the trophy without losing a match during the competition.

The ladies game was closely fought with both sides levelled at 3-3 at half time, but a dive from Caroline Marsh put Jersey 4-3 ahead to seal their win.

Elle Richings and Chrissie Helmholt-Kneisel contributed to the score.

In the men's game, Jersey quickly went ahead putting 7-0 on the scoreboard before half-time, and then added a further two to win the match 9-1.

Simon di Meo, Jon Monserez and Tom Nuth each got a touchdown, while Jon Grimshaw, Nick Guy and Chris Veal got two each.

In the mixed game the scoreline was closer, but Jersey edged 2-1 ahead at half time.

In the second half the home side increased their pace to win the game 6-3 after Dave Sharrock touched down. Dan McDowell got two and Mark Knight helped to secure the cup.
