Redruth secretary Roger Watson has said the club are close to unveiling their new head coach. Veteran flanker Mark Bright is one of the favourites to succeed Nigel Hambly, who stood down after 11 years at the Rec at the end of last season. Watson told BBC Cornwall: "The process is still ongoing, but we're optimistic that it will be settled soon. "We're going to have a good, strong coaching line-up for next year in National One," he added. Watson claims that the new coach will have the benefit of picking his team from a largely unchanged squad. He said: "Most of the boys have now signed on again for next year. "We had our awards night last Friday at the club and the atmosphere there was absolutely fantastic, it was the Redruth family at its best." Redruth finished the 2009/10 season 11th in National One, taking 69 points from 30 games.
