Winter in action on his way to winning the Saltrock open

Cornish surfer Russell Winter has been crowned the 2010 Saltrock Open Champion after a stunning performance in Monday's final.

Winter was the standout competitor throughout the heats in Croyde and went on to replicate that form in the final.

The Newquay-based surfer beat Sam Lamiroy into second place, with Angelo Bonomelli coming third.

The women's title was won by Sarah Beardmore for the second consecutive year, with Gwen Spurlock in second.

The other classes saw wins for Louis Eyre (Pro Junior), Luke Dillon (under-16 boys), Tassy Swallow (under-16 girls) and Harry de Roth (under-12 open).
