Prosser has played for Wales U-20s in the Six Nations

Cornish Pirates have signed Welsh hooker Ryan Prosser from Championship rivals Bristol until the end of the current season.

The 21-year-old was a member of the Bristol Academy and has also played for Wales Under-20 side.

Chief executive Rod Coward said: "Ryan is well recommended and comes with a determination to succeed.

"If he proves his ability then we would be looking to renew his contract beyond this season."

Prosser was offered a deal with the Bristol senior side last year, but a severe knee injury kept him on the sidelines for the whole season.

The Welsh-born hooker is now back fully fit and has recently played for Newbury in National League One.
