Raven made three appearances during his brief Pirates career |
Cornish Pirates have released second row Sam Raven from his contract after the Australian asked to leave the club. Raven, 26, joined from Rotherham in January and made three appearances during a deal which was set to conclude at the end of the season. "We feel that our response is very much in Sam's best interest," said Pirates chief executive Rod Coward. Raven joined the club while they were going through a severe injury crisis in their pack. He is set to go back to Australia to play for Sydney-based Eastern Suburbs. "His contribution during his time here has been much appreciated, and he leaves with our sincere good wishes," Coward added.
