Sturrock's side are now three places of the Championship relegation zone
Plymouth Argyle manager Paul Sturrock put the Pilgrims vital win at Blackpool down to plenty of hard work on the training ground last week.
"The conditions here were always going to make it difficult. But we worked very hard really the whole week on getting the ball in behind them.
"I think it worked quite well, we should have perhaps scored a couple more goals", he told BBC Radio Devon.
Sturrock was pleased that the only goal came from a dead-ball situation.
It was Gary Sawyer who scored the game's only goal four minutes from time to secure the Greens' sixth away success of the season to ease their relegation fears.
