Raven spent three years at Nottingham before joining Rotherham

Cornish Pirates have signed 26-year-old Rotherham lock forward Sam Raven until the end of the season.

Raven, who has made five starts in National League One this season, joined the Yorkshire side at the start of the season from Nottingham.

With six forwards out with injury Raven's signing with bolster the pack.

"We felt that he would be an ideal recruit to our squad and would solve our present injury problems," said chief executive Rod Coward.

Raven will go straight into the squad for the match at his former club Nottingham on Sunday.
