Vagabonds won on the road for the first time this season with a 10-6 victory at Wigan in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One on Saturday. Understrength Vagas were missing both stand-offs and went into the game with scrum-half Leigh Kennaugh filling in at number 10. First-half tries from Bryan Kennaugh and Daryn Thompson gave Vagas a lead which they defended to the end. Meanwhile in Division Two Douglas thrashed Trentham 25-0 at Port-e-Chee. Douglas led 10-0 at the interval with Bryn Snellgrove converting his own try and adding a penalty. In the second-half Niall Killey and Geoff Miles both added to Douglas' try tally with the busy Snellgrove bagging another penalty and conversion to give him a personal haul of 15 points. Elsewhere, Vagabonds B and Ramsey B continued their close rivalry with a 12-12 draw in the first round of Shimmin Wilson Manx Trophy games.
