Mounts Bay head coach Adrian Bick was delighted at his side's win over London Scottish in the National Trophy.
The 6-5 victory was the first loss of the season for National Three South leaders Scottish, who reportedly have a playing budget of over 1.5m.
"Both on and off the field it's going to be a huge benefit to the club," Bick told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"For next week it's going to give us a lot of confidence for the big away game at Wharfedale."
And Bick said that his side's experience of being promoted from National Three South last season helped them in their win.
The boys want any of the big clubs away - away because it's going to help the club off the field as out financial issues are well documented

"We learnt last year from playing in National Three and coming up into National Two that there's a big step up and I think they might have experienced that," he said.
And Bick was full of praise for full-back Dan Hawkes who kicked Bay's winning points.
"His tactical awareness today in positioning and kicking was outstanding," the coach commented.
"It was a tough call to drop Mike Provis from last week. Dan at full-back has a lot more time and I think he's a player that plays on confidence and you could see him growing in stature throughout the game.
And Bick says his side are now hoping to face one of the big sides from National One in round six.
"The boys want any of the big clubs away. Away because it's going to help the club off the field as out financial issues are well documented," he continued.
"It's important also for our players to pit themselves against higher division players and see how they'll go against them," he added.
