Goodfellow hopes that Bay will now be able to concentrate on staying up |
Greg Goodfellow says Mounts Bay's defeat to Esher in the National Trophy means they can focus their attentions on the fight to stay in National Two. The Scottish scrum-half saw his side lose 43-5 at the Mennaye on Saturday. "It was very disappointing but it may be a weight off our minds as we can concentrate on the league," Goodfellow told BBC Radio Cornwall. Bay are two places from safety in National Two, with five sides going down at the end of the season. "We were mainly concerned in going out and putting in a good performance," he said. "I think for 60 minutes we put in a performance that was worthy of giving Esher a game."
