Mounts Bay were brushed aside by National One side Esher in Penzance as the Cornwall side never looked like causing a National Trophy shock. The National Two hosts were outclassed in the first half, as Surrey side Esher ran in five unanswered tries to lead 33-0 at a rate of one point a minute. The first score came after just 44 seconds with flankers Doug Flockhart and George Lowe each scoring twice. Bay full-back Mike Molloy scored a late consolation two minutes from the end.
