Hewitt wants to finish a place higher than last season |
Cornish Pirates head coach Mark Hewitt is aiming for a top-four finish in National League One. The Recreation Ground side finished in fifth place last term and Hewitt has brought 13 new players into his squad during the off-season. "I think we've got to be in the top four, that's what we've got to aim at," Hewitt told BBC Spotlight. "Obviously we'd like to win the league, but realistically we're looking at a top-four finish." It will be Hewitt's first full season in charge of the side, having stepped up from forwards coach to take over from Jim McKay in February. And Hewitt has managed to persuade more of the squad than usual to stay on for another season at Camborne. "We've kept 22 from last year and brought in 13 players. For the Pirates that's quite unusual. Usually it's a bigger turnaround than that," he said.
