Full-back Adryan Winnan has been named as Cornish Pirates captain for the forthcoming season.

The 25-year-old Cornishman has made nearly 50 appearances for the National League One side since he joined them from French side Tarbes two years ago.

"The team spirit is already building as we prepare for what will clearly be a competitive campaign," Winnan said.

Pirates coach Mark Hewitt added: "Adryan is experienced and has all the qualities to be a successful captain."

Winnan was with Premiership side Saracens until 2004 when he was released and joined Tarbes.
