Italian winger Michele Sepe could feature against the Pirates

The Cornish Pirates are to face Italian top flight side Almaviva Capitolina at Camborne in their final pre-season warm-up match.

The Rome-based team gained promotion to Italy's Super 10 in 2006, just ten years after being founded.

Their squad has two full internationals - Italian winger Michele Sepe and Argentina prop Ferdinando Guatieri as well as a host of A internationals.

The game, on Saturday 23 August, will kick off at 1700 BST.

It will be the Pirates second warm-up match as they face Redruth a week before at Camborne.

"The confirmation of two very useful pre-season friendlies is good news for the team and supporters, with our preparations likely to be further enhanced with a training day away to at least one Premiership club," head coach Mark Hewitt said.
