Cornish Pirates have appointed former Cornwall county coach Phil Angove as their new scrummaging coach. The 51-year-old former Redruth, Exeter and Cornwall hooker coached the duchy to the national title in 1999. He replaces Robin Cowling who has left to become manager the South West England Rugby Academy at Truro College. "Phil Angove will give our forwards an extra edge in what is sure to be a highly competitive area of the game," said chief executive Rod Coward. "I must also mention the contribution that Robin Cowling has made to the Cornish Pirates over the past seasons and to wish him well as he continues his invaluable work at the South West Rugby Academy," Coward added.
