Cornish Pirates have added two more internationals to their ranks with the signings of Canada's Scott Franklin and Samoan Doug Sanft.

Prop Franklin, 27, has been capped three times by Canada and is part of his country's Churchill Cup squad.

Fly-half Sanft has also been capped three times by his country and the 29-year-old Samoan has played most of his rugby in New Zealand.

He was ruled out of last year's World Cup after breaking a bone in his hand.

"This is a fresh challenge for me, and one which I'll give of my best to achieve the goals of the club. I enjoy my rugby, and will enjoy this new experience," Sanft said.

Sanft joins the Pirates after a spell playing in New Zealand's NPC competition and a period in Spain, while Franklin joins from French top 14 club Brive.
