Pirates deny Bay loan 'agreement'

Cornish Pirates

Cornish Pirates chief executive Rod Coward says the club have not entered into an agreement with Mounts Bay over loaning players for this coming season.

"Some discussions have taken place between the two clubs, the details have not been discussed and no agreement has been reached," he said in a statement.

Two weeks ago Mounts Bay president Michael Leah told BBC Sport he had made an agreement between the clubs.

Mounts Bay play at the Pirates' Mennaye Field ground in Penzance.

"The Cornish Pirates recognise the potential benefits of such short-term arrangements, (three Cornish Pirates players were loaned to Redruth RFC last season) and, if it is feasible, will sympathetically consider any approaches made by Mounts Bay," Coward went on to say in the statement on the club website.
