Cornish Pirates are to enter the Cornwall Super Cup for the first time.

The event, which will now pit the county's top four rugby sides against one another, begins in September.

They will join holders and first-time winners Mounts Bay, Redruth and Launceston and play their home games at the Mennaye Field.

The Pirates' first matches will be against the Cornish All Blacks at the Mennaye on Monday 15 September and at Polson Bridge on Monday 17 November.

Teams plays each other on a home and away basis and all games must be played by Sunday 22 March 2009 with the final scheduled for the Easter weekend of the 10-13 April.
