Launceston have signed former Cornish Pirates second row Scott Hobson on a dual registration deal with Bath.

England Under-20s cap Hobson left the Pirates for the Premiership side at the beginning of May.

"I have definitely learned things at Bath and I'll carry on learning. I hope to bring some of that down here," said 20-year-old Hobson.

"Scott is exactly the type of player we are looking for - hungry and talented," joint Head Coach Chris Brown added.

And Brown says that Bath are happy for Hobson to get some experience with the All Blacks.

"I know that Bath recognise that developing players is essential to individual progress. Frank Butler and Bath have been key in recognising that we can help Scott in his development," he said.

But despite returning to his home county, Hobson says he does not want to make it his permanent rugby home.

"I want to improve my all round game and my main aim is to break into the Bath first team if opportunity comes along."
