Kear wants consistent refereeing

Wakefield coach John Kear has called for more consistency in the standard of refereeing in Super League.

It follows Danny Brough being sent off for dissent late on in Sunday's game with Celtic Crusaders, glossing over an otherwise comfortable 46-12 win.

"I'm happy for the referees to enforce the laws of the game but all I want them to do it consistently," Kear told BBC Radio Leeds.

"I want it applying to every team throughout every game."

Wakefield's victory left the Crusaders eight points adrift at the bottom of Super League but cemented the Wildcats' spot in the play-off places.

But Kear believes his side must improve if they are to be genuine contenders in the end-of-season play-offs.

He added: "I'm just a little concerned about our finishing. We're not being clinical enough, we're not being ruthless enough.

"I'm really looking towards the end of the season, towards the playoffs and there's areas of our game that need picking up in order for us to go into the play-offs full of confidence and belief."
