Robins chairman Hudgell insists he is at ease with the club's financial position
Hull Kingston Rovers' Chairman Neil Hudgell has hit out at continual rumours regarding the club's financial well-being.
The Robins are shortly expected to announce a third consecutive season of financial losses, but Hudgell insists it is not a concern.
He told BBC Radio Humberside: "There are some mischief makers who like to analyse the finances with a tooth comb.
"But if I want to put my money into Hull KR that's my business," he said.
Hudgell said rugby league is a sport that relies on directors pumping money into the clubs and he acknowledged the Robins were no different.
"What we've always said is that while we're involved with the club there'll always be a club," he said.
"It annoys me because it's my decision to put my money, along with the other directors of Hull Kingston Rovers, into the club. We're making progress on all fronts, and especially with the development of the ground."
The Rovers chairman added: "When it all comes down to it rugby league isn't cash rich, and without people putting money into most clubs, those clubs wouldn't be in business."
Hudgell said he was not losing any sleep about the approaching Super League licence renewal procedure.
"We're a traditional club with a good following, and OK, our facilities aren't the best, but our plans for improving them are well under way. We're in a lot better health at the end of this season than we were at the end of last season, in my opinion.
"The stark reality is we we will not be profitable until we have a better stadium attracting more supporters. Bottom line my message is under this board Hull Kingston Rovers is a safe entity and people shouldn't waste time speculating about it."
