Murrell sets Rovers comeback date

Hull Kingston Rovers loose forward Scott Murrell's long road back to fitness is nearing an end.

The 23-year-old had surgery after dislocating his shoulder in the 22-8 win against Harlequins in May and has not played competitively since.

Coach Justin Morgan said: "He's been given the all-clear to resume 100% activity to train."

Murrell will hope to be available for Rovers' opening game of the 2009 season against Bradford Bulls in February.

"Getting 80-90% is quite easy to rehab from but it's getting that last little bit of strength and full range of movement that's difficult," Morgan added.

Murrell should be on the plane to Dubai where Rovers are holding a pre-season training camp to build up their fitness in time for the new season.
