Wheeldon had been in talks over a new contract with Hull FC |
Forward Scott Wheeldon has become the latest player to cross the divide to join Hull KR from city rivals Hull FC. The 22-year-old prop will move to Craven Park next season after agreeing a two-year contract. Wheeldon, who came through the ranks in Rovers' academy, has played 57 games for Hull but missed out on a place in their Challenge Cup final team. He joins Chris Chester, Paul Cooke and Shaun Briscoe in joining Rovers from the KC Stadium in recent years. Wheeldon said: "While it will be an obvious wrench leaving fellow young players and mates at the KC, it will be an exciting challenge to rejoin the club where I first sampled club rugby in the academy." Hull KR coach Justin Morgan said: "Scott is a talented young man with huge amounts of potential."
