Wheeldon has scored five Super League tries

Hull FC forward Scott Wheeldon has said he is in talks with the Super League club over a new contract.

The 22-year-old, who has made 60 appearances for Hull, is a product of the club's youth academy.

"I'm just waiting for the club to get back to me at the moment," Wheeldon told BBC Radio Humberside.

"I enjoy it here, I've got all my friends here and with Richard Agar coming through as head coach, I hope to stay here."

Wheeldon has been a regular in the first team for the last three seasons but has been mainly used as an impact player coming off the bench.

He added: "I spoke to Richard Agar just the other day and things are looking good so I'm pretty happy and hopefully everything will go well."
