Scunthorpe 2-0 Oldham

Scunthorpe kept up their hopes of an automatic promotion place with victory at home against Oldham.

Midfielder Grant McCann rifled them in front with a brilliant 25-yard free-kick, before Gary Hooper hit an angled drive to double the home team's lead.

Lee Hughes had a header ruled out for offside and Chris Taylor's finish was disallowed as Oldham's attempts to pull one back were frustrated.

And Hooper and Sam Togwell both wasted chances to extend the Iron's lead.
