Murrell will need half a year out of the game after surgery |
Hull KR loose forward Scott Murrell will not play again this season after undergoing shoulder surgery. The 22-year-old suffered a dislocation in his side's 22-8 win against Harlequins at Craven Park in May. Murrell had surgery on the shoulder two weeks ago and he has now been ruled out of action for six months. The loss of the highly-rated Murrell is a blow to Hull KR, who are ninth in the Super League but are pushing for a place in the play-offs. Murrell was injured in the opening minutes of Rovers' first-ever Super League win over the Londoners, and was unable to play any further part in the game. It was initially hoped that Murrell's injury would not require surgery and that the former Leeds half-back would need only six weeks to recover.
